A Reploid dedicated to his military career within Repliforce, Jet Stingray rose through the ranks to become a Marine in the Reploid Navy branch of the service. His respect for his superiors, General and Colonel, was such that when they began their bid for independence, he was closely in tow.
Stingray's mission during the coup involved attacking an underground power station, decimating the city above, in order to divert Maverick Hunter resources. Acting accordingly, Hunters X and Zero pursued Stingray through the subterranean tunnels and back to his marine base aboard Adion-class Ride Chasers. Throughout the chase, Stingray attempted to thwart his pursuers with Ground Hunter attacks and by using his own body as a battering ram.
When confronted by the Hunters, Stingray revealed himself and attacked, again using his own body and speed to ram them and deploying his Ground Hunter stingray drones, which either followed the walls and floors (blue) or dropped down when over a target (red). He also took to the ground beneath the water's surface and used the vacuum mounted on his right arm to create a whirlpool-like force that would pull his foes in.

Upon his defeat, X adapted the Ground Hunter into his Variable Weapons System, allowing him to deploy his own remote stingray drones; charging this weapon deployed a larger drone which released a barrage of blasts both above and below it as it flew forward. Zero learned the Hienkyaku technique, which enabled him to use his Emergency Acceleration System in midair to loosely approximate Stingray's flight capabilities.
