Once the stoic leader of the Maverick Hunters' 8th Armored Unit, Armored Armadillo's willingness to
follow orders almost makes him the consummate soldier. However, he is loyal to a fault, meaning that when
Sigma left the Hunters and began his rebellion against humankind, Armored Armadillo had no qualms
with departing the organization as well and continuing to follow his superior officer's orders to the very end.
For his part in the rebellion, Sigma ordered Armadillo to capture and guard the ruins of an energy mine

known as the Gallery, giving his army a source of raw materials to be used for weapons manufacturing.
Per his orders, Armored Armadillo engaged X when the latter arrived to reclaim the mine, and was
ultimately defeated in the line of duty.
Armored Armadillo was well-suited to underground fighting, and was capable of burrowing through the
earth when he rolled into a nigh-invincible spinning ball. When not in ball form, his plating could deflect
smaller shots and absorb larger blasts from the X-Buster, which he returned in kind by dispersing the energy
in eight directions. Topping things off was a concealed blaster mounted in his forehead.
When X defeated Armadillo, he acquired the Rolling Shield, a rolling ball of blue energy which could
bounce off walls. When charged, X could surround himself with a spherical force field which offered
limited protection.
