Mr. Satan's daughter and Gohan's classmate. An extremely lively tomboy, she has a natural talent for hand-to-hand fighting that surpasses her father's. While a full-time student, she moonlights as an amateur crime fighter, leaving class to stop criminals whenever needed. The school is accepting of this and gives her special permission to do so. Videl is suspicious of the "Golden Fighter" that has shown up in town out of nowhere.
Once Videl figured out the Great Saiyaman was her classmate Gohan, she threatened to expose him if he didn't help her train and join her in the World Tournament. As Gohan taught her how to fly and use Ki, she found herself becoming fonder of him. Videl thought Gohan preferred girls with short hair when he recommended she cut hers, but when she found out it was just because he thought it would be better in a fight, she got embarrassed and yelled at him.
Her father doesn't want her dating someone unless they are stronger than him, a restriction she accepts, as she respects her father as a martial artist. When Videl learned who Gohan really was at the World Tournament, she began to display an interest in him. She also refused to believe he was dead when Goku said he was probably killed by Buu.

Videl initially thought the Great Saiyaman was lame, but she later came around to the idea of Gohan dressing up as the character, even dressing up herself and becoming the Great Saiyaman 2 in one of the movies.
In DragonBall GT, her personality has become calmer and she has advanced herself from fighting. However, when Super #17 appears, her martial artist blood boils, and there is a scene where she transforms into Great Saiyaman 2 to fight.
