The mercenary Dynamo was a living example of how the wrong man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world. This sleek, quick-witted Reploid helped Sigma set the space colony Eurasia on a crash course with Earth, after which he added to his sins by interfering with X and Zero's efforts to halt the colony's collision. Even when the planet lay in ruins following the impact, Dynamo continued to make a nuisance of himself while he collected Nightmare Souls to enhance his power.
Despite the enormous gravity of his activities, Dynamo never let his impish personality slip in X and Zero's presence. He acted more like a boy causing mischief on a field trip than a vicious mercenary who directly contributed to the deaths of entire ecosystems. Though he was a capable fighter, Dynamo initially wasn't bent on seriously hurting X and Zero. He was like a cat- content to get underfoot at the worst possible times.
Dynamo was let off Sigma's leash once the planet fell into ruin. A free agent once more, he wandered the ruined landscape in search of Nightmare Souls. No longer content to simply play around with X and Zero, he wished to use the Souls' power and become strong enough to defeat the Hunters. Despite his collection efforts, every skirmish ended with Dynamo's defeat and subsequent flight.

Had Dynamo taken his life a little more seriously, he might've grown to become a formidable warrior indeed. Even when he was simply toying with his prey, he had enough prowess to topple most Special A-Class Hunters. His abilities and arsenal were certainly impressive; he utilized a buster and a double-bladed saber, and he handled both expertly. He was especially proficient with his saber, which he could use to perform a large Tsubame Gaeshi slash at grounded opponents in midair or spin to create a shot-deflecting shield. He could also lob it like a boomerang to snag faraway targets (in the skirmishes following the colony collision, Dynamo learned how to fling several "D Blades" in quick succession).
When Dynamo turned to his buster, he liked to perform Trick Shots that split midair - probably a coy tribute to the wandering rogues of the 19th century Wild West whom Dynamo emulated in both looks and spirit. In heated encounters, Dynamo would overcharge his buster and slam his fist into the ground, causing spires of energy to erupt from the earth. He revived this devastating "Earth Gaizer" attack with added potency when he fought X and Zero for Nightmare Souls.
