One of a group of Reploids created by the researcher Gate, Commander Yammark was created with the purpose of supporting forest preservation projects and rose to become the leader of an ecological observation team. It was during this time that he accidentally set a fire which claimed a significant portion of the forest, and while he was not held accountable, he was nevertheless killed in a crash that was the result of sabotage to his flight system.
Gate would later resurrect Yammark to help aid in his "investigation" of the Zero Nightmare. Fearful of another betrayal and "deletion" from Reploid researcher and Maverick Hunter alike, he attacked when approached by the Hunters while in the Amazon.
Commander Yammark fought by using his mechanical dragonfly drones, called Yammar Options, to attack opponents with energy projectiles as well as defend himself by having them fly in various numbers and formations.
When X or Zero used the Yammar Option for themselves, they were able to summon three of their own dragonfly drones, which would encircle them and fire blasts on command. X could also charge the Yammar Option to temporarily grant the drones more power as they fired in various directions.
