Shadow the Hedgehog bears an uncanny resemblance to Sonic in both appearance and ability marking the two hedgehogs as eternal rivals. By harnessing the power of a Chaos Emerald, Shadow can bend space and time through his signature technique: Chaos Control.

Created to be the Ultimate Lifeform by Professor Gerald, the brilliant grandfather of Dr. Eggman, Shadow is driven by neither good nor evil. Rather, he stands up to whatever he perceives as the greatest evil based on his own agenda, which occasionally pits him against Sonic and friends.

Disciplined and relentless, Shadow's pride demands perfection from himself and those around him. However distant and reserved he may be, his resolve runs deep, and when the world stands on the brink, he will do whatever it takes to protect it.
