A polymath who excelled in several disciplines, his research toward the end of his life focused on the search for immortality in the hope of saving his sickly granddaughter, Maria. Sadly, the project was halted by G.U.N., who captured Gerald, covered up all records of his findings, and ultimately eliminated him- though not before Gerald secretly set up a plan for vengeance that wouldn't take shape until fifty years later.
Nevertheless, his legacy of brilliant achievements endure as an inspiration to his grandson, Dr. Eggman.
