Toi is a 14-year-old middle school student, and one of the deuteragonists of the story. He is a transfer student, returning to Asakusa after some time away. He is involved in crime and makes a living selling marijuana. His ultimate goal is to make enough money to live with his older brother, Chikai, who is a part of the yakuza. Chikai is also on the run from the law due to a crime committed years ago. Toi is deeply devoted to his brother, and wants nothing more than to be by his side.

After an encounter with the protagonist, Kazuki Yasaka, he, as well as Kazuki's friend Enta, are turned into kappas by the kappa prince, Keppi. In order to return to their human forms, they must extract the shirikodama of kappa zombies, and return the shirikodama to Keppi by connecting to one another and performing the 'Sarazanmai'.
