In 2006, she is Satoru Fujinuma's 52 year old single mother. She used to be a news anchor at Ishikari TV. Due to her her past career and life experiences, she is very perceptive. She looks a lot younger than her actual age. These factors are what make Satoru refer to his mother as a demon. She loves and cares for her only son more than anything despite her nonchalant attitude.
In 1988, 34 year old Sachiko still retains the same sharp wit and maternal love. She often helps her son out by giving him hearty advice and home-cooked food that is just as good. She also supports Satoru's other friends, especially Kayo Hinazuki.
SPOILER: In 2006, a kidnapper attempts abducting a little girl, but Sachiko catches him in the act. This sparks her to investigate the person she witnessed and she comes to a horrifying revelation. The perpetrator follows Sachiko home afterwards and swiftly kills her in order to silence her. Satoru finds his mother's dead body and panics, which began the phenomenon of revival that takes him back in time to 1988 to prevent her death.
After Satoru ends up in a long term coma, Sachiko took great care of him throughout it all. She tears up when he finally awakens in the new 2003 timeline.
