[[1954-1975]]
From a terrifying force of nature representing the horrors of war, to a parental figure primed for blockbuster kaiju team-ups,
Godzilla's role varied with each new Show era incarnation.
[[1984-1995]]
In 1984, the King of the Monsters' cinematic canon returned to its darker roots in Godzilla Returns.
This raging Godzilla radiated renewed menace, with a mountainous silhouette of massive dorsal fins running from its fanged face to its longest tail yet.
Ark is the protagonist of Terranigma. He's from Crysta, the only village that exists in the Earth's underworld. Ark constantly gets into trouble wth other inhabitants and is a bad role model for younger kids. He's close friends with Elle, a girl that works hard and worries about Ark despite his childish and uneducated behaviour.
One day, Ark and his friends break through a door the village Elder asked to never be open. Behind it, Ark finds a box with a strange creature called Yomi. Soon, it becomes clear that his actions made all the villagers, including Elle, become frozen solid. The Elder, after scolding Ark, tells him to visit 5 towers and complete their trials to revive the villagers. The Elder also gives Ark the Cry Spear, which Ark is able to handle as second nature.
As a side effect of passing each tower's trial, the continents of the surface world get resurrected. As soon as the village is back to normal, the Elder tells Ark that he must cross to the Earth's surface and aid in resurrecting the entire world, and also that he won't be able to come back until this job is finished. And so, Ark bids farewell to everything he ever knew, and started his new journey in a barren, lifeless overworld. Soon, though, Ark becomes the catalyst for changes, and is able to experience personally the consequences of his actions and of others, both as an integral component and as a lone outsider.
