The refined, soft-spoken Layer is one of Maverick Hunter HQ's newest navigators. She joined the war effort alongside fellow navigators Alia and Pallette when the New Generation Reploids began causing trouble for the Jakob Project. Though she comes off as a little shy, Layer takes her duties as a navigator very seriously- especially when she's navigating for Zero.
Layer is sharp-witted, making her particularly adept at rooting out battle weaknesses in Mechaniloids and Mavericks. She's a bit of a romantic and harbors a quiet love for old-fashioned technology like space rockets. Layer has a poorly hidden crush on Zero, which Pallette occasionally teases her about.
Like Alia and Pallette, Layer can hold her own on the battlefield. Her preferred weapon is the Layer Rapier, which she wields much like how Zero wields his Z-Saber. She can even learn the famous Hunter's sword techniques and wield the extra weapons she picks up from downed Mavericks. Given Layer's infatuation with Zero, her close adherence to his fighting style is probably not a coincidence.
