Dokurokushe is a major antagonist of Mahoutsukai PreCure! and acts as the main antagonist for the first half of the series. He was originally a magician by the name of Kushe, who was childhood friends with the headmaster of the Magic School. In an attempt to stop an ancient prophecy, Kushe became obsessed with researching dark magic, and their friendship fell apart. He eventually turned into the lich-like antagonist seen in the show, fully bent on plunging the world into darkness.
SPOILER: In episode 20, after his defeat, his spirit is cleansed, and he seemingly passes on. However, Kushe is seen once again in episode 49, holding hands with the headmaster as they lend their energy to the PreCure's final fight. He also reappears in the finale.
In the finale, a fragment of his spirit is left behind due to a past cavity. This scarecrow-like version of Dokurokushe is obsessed with candy, and wreaks havoc about town stealing all things sweet.
By the end of the episode he is once again purified. Off screen, his presence appears to have stuck around, as his foot can be seen for a brief moment before the episode ends. Despite this, he does not appear in Mirai Days.
