He once was empowered by the Phantom Ruby, using it to create terrifying virtual realities and even enabling him to best Sonic. Indeed, Infinite's power became so overwhelming that he helped the Eggman Empire expand to control 99.9% of the world, a victory achieved seemingly overnight.
