Hyperpop exaggerates and re-contextualizes Electropop and Dance-Pop of the late 2000s/early 2010s, while also drawing influences from EDM and Hip-Hop, and occasionally Alternative Rock and Indie Rock. It adheres to verse-chorus pop songwriting but emphasizes an eclectic, off-kilter, and sometimes abrasive sound unlike mainstream pop; with a chaotic, dense production, and futuristic, layered synth work. The genre often features heavily manipulated, usually auto-tuned, and pitch-shifted vocals. The high-tech 'plastic' aesthetic and the ironic, camp, exaggerated femininity of Bubblegum Bass is also common.
