Asterios... this monster (hero) was given a name that means lightning, though he is rarely called by it. His nickname known across the world is Minotaur, meaning the Bull of King Minos.

Pasiphae, the wife of the ruler of Crete, King Minos, bore a son fathered by a bull. A monster from birth, he has a man's body and a bull's head. Minos, confused by what to do with him, commanded the renowned craftsman Daedalus to create "a maze he can never escape from" ... a Labyrinth.

The story goes that a natural-born monster will be defeated by a natural-born hero. Asterios was slain by the hero Thēseus who snuck into the Labyrinth. Even if he was not evil by nature, he was created by an evil deed and destined to be slain.
