Wattson is the Gym Leader of Mauville City in the Hoenn region. He is a jolly old man, considered eccentric by the locals, who is rarely seen not laughing. Despite his harmless appearance, though, he is very ambitious, being the man behind the expansion of Mauville City in the remakes as well as being the head of the failed New Mauville and Sea Mauville projects. He specialises in Electric-type Pokémon, with Manectric being his ace.
