Dino Cavallone is the 10th boss of the Cavallone famiglia, an Italian mafia group with five-thousand members and ranked as third most powerful in its alliance with the Vongola famiglia. He is skilled in using a whip and is often accompanied by his sponge-turtle, Enzio.
As a previous student of Reborn's, Dino's main role frequently consists of acting as a mentor-figure to Tsuna in an attempt to prepare him in taking up the mantel as the next Vongola boss, much to Tsuna's chagrin. Tsuna's rebellious actions against Reborn and unwillingness to join the mafia remind Dino of himself at that age, stating that in the beginning he thought "no decent guy would ever seek to join the mafia."
