Dagoth Ur is the primary antagonist of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Due to his constant harnessing of the heart of Lorkhan, he is several thousand years old, to the point where his is considered one of 5 Dunmer who are old enough to have been Chimer, before they all turned into what they are now. Before becoming a god, Dagoth was a close confidant of the Chimeri saint Indoril Nerevar. He inadvertently caused a climactic battle at Red Mountain (the volcano in the center of Vvardenfell) by informing his friend of the secret the Dwemer held. They harnessed the power of the previously mentioned heart, which Nerevar deemed heretical and took action immediately. What happened next is unknown, not due to not being recorded, but the ES series tends to have... Less than honest narrators. Regardless of what happened, the Tribunal wiped his name from history and presumed him to be dead...
Yet, obviously, he was not. He survived, and took his revenge during the 2nd era, where he unleashed a disease known as 'The Blight' upon Vvardenfell and planned on rebuilding an ancient Dwemeri machine-god known as the Numidium in his image, as Akulakhan. Yet, in the end, ||The Nerevarine, reincarnation of his closest friend, would defeat him in the 3rd Era.||
- What a fool you are. I'm a god. How can you kill a god? What a grand and intoxicating innocence. How could you be so naive? There is no escape. No Recall or Intervention can work in this place. Come. Lay down your weapons. It is not too late for my mercy.
(His quote upon entering the heart chamber.)
