Apprentice to Gwildor, Jay often daydreamed of life as a member of the Masters of the Universe. His dreams became a reality when he was selected along with five other inventors by the Science Council to journey to Eternos to present his latest creations: the Photog Emulator. During the presentation, a slight miscalculation led to a flux overload, merging Jay with his invention. Finding he could drain his enemies' powers and display their defeat on his chest, Jay called himself the Fearless Photog and was offered membership with his idols in the Masters of the Universe.
ACTION FIGURE INFO: Fearless Photog was created by Nathan Bitner, and was the winner of the 1985 Create-A-Character contest, ran by Mattel. The winner was supposed to have their design turned into an official figure and released as a product - however, for unknown reasons (presumably the line was already coming to a close by the time they had planned to release it), this was never the case. It wasn't until 2012 when the then-running line Masters of the Universe Classics made true to Mattel's word and finally released him as an official character of the brand. His official biography also incorporates this into the lore, as there were 5 finalists for the contest (five inventors), and the desire to be a Master of the Universe emulates the desire to enter the contest.
