Professor Laventon is the main Pokémon Professor in the Hisui region, at a time in history when Pokémon are not as well understood, and many of the region's inhabitants, Laventon included, fear them. He is responsible for creating the first known recorded Pokédex in history, and personally writes out the entries for each Pokémon as the player completes research tasks for each species.
